Brow Lamination
For a while now I’ve had customers come in that look so amazing with a wax and tint on their brows but there’s just something missing! If you have unruly brows that stick up and go in all sorts of directions with a mind of their own - book now for eyebrow lamination. (Don’t forget your patch test!)
Brow Lamination: The Ultimate Treatment for Fuller, Defined Brows
Brow lamination is a modern technique designed to create the look of fuller, more structured eyebrows. Once referred to as a "brow perm" or "brow taming," this updated treatment uses advanced formulas that are safe to apply directly onto the skin—making it suitable for a wider variety of clients, not just those with unruly or downward-growing hairs.
Much like a lash lift, the process involves setting the brow hairs in a uniform direction using a gentle chemical solution. The result? Instantly lifted, smoothed brows that frame the face, enhance the eyes, and deliver a youthful, polished appearance. The effect can last up to eight weeks, giving clients a low-maintenance, high-impact finish.
Before Your Brow Lamination Appointment
To ensure your safety and the best results, a patch test is required at least 24 to 48 hours before your treatment.
Patch Test Outcomes:
A positive reaction (such as redness, itching, swelling, or irritation) means the treatment is not suitable for you. Please notify your technician immediately if this occurs.
A negative reaction indicates no sensitivity, and you’re clear to go ahead with the treatment.
Important Notes Before Your Appointment:
If you're planning any facial treatments, anti-wrinkle injections, or dermal fillers, these should be scheduled after your brow lamination or at least two weeks before.
Avoid using Retin-A, AHAs, or any exfoliating products around the brow area for three days before and after your appointment.
Please arrive with clean skin—no makeup, especially on or around the brows. If you wear contact lenses, make sure to remove them before the treatment and bring glasses if needed.
Aftercare Considerations:
Brows must stay dry for 24–48 hours post-treatment. This includes avoiding water, steam, and makeup in the brow area.
Plan ahead if you have any events, as you won’t be able to apply makeup or get your brows wet immediately following the treatment.
Aftercare for Brow Lamination
To maintain the best results and ensure the longevity of your treatment, please follow the guidance below for the first 24–48 hours after your appointment:
Avoid applying makeup or undergoing any additional eye treatments for at least 24 hours.
Keep your brows dry for the first 24 hours—this includes avoiding water, steam, and sweat.
Stay away from saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, and sunbeds during this period.
Limit sun exposure and avoid prolonged heat on the treated area.
Do not use self-tanning products on the face for at least 48 hours before and after treatment.
Refrain from touching your brows unnecessarily. Oils and bacteria from your hands can transfer to the skin, potentially causing irritation or breakouts.
Avoid tweezing or shaping your brows between appointments to preserve their shape and structure.
Skip any exfoliating products, AHAs, or retinol around the brow area for three days before and after treatment.
Apply a nourishing brow conditioner daily. Brush it through the brows with a clean mascara wand in the direction of hair growth to keep them hydrated and tidy.
Note on tinting: The tint may appear darker immediately after the treatment—this will soften over time. Using oil-based makeup removers can cause the tint to fade more quickly.
What conditions would prevent me having the Brow Lamination treatment?
If any of these contraindications are present the Brow Lamination Treatment cannot be performed. If the contraindication will clear within a few days or weeks, the treatment can be rescheduled.

Cancer – The brows need some extra TLC and babying during chemo and the recovery period, which varies from client to client. It's important not to put any extra stress on your brows. It's best to refrain from treatment during chemotherapy, and several months after your last treatment, as the brows are still susceptible to the effects of the drugs. Ideally, you'll want to wait until the natural brows are less fragile. A letter from your Oncologist stating they are happy for you to receive treatment should be obtained.
If you have cuts, abrasions, inflammation or swelling in the treatment area or who have experienced a positive reaction to the patch test then you are not suitable for treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I had mine done once before and they felt so crusty—is that normal?
A: Yes, that can happen if your brows are dry—hydration is key. Laminated brows thrive when they’re kept moisturised, so using a hydrating facial moisturiser regularly will help soften the hair and keep them looking healthy.
Q: Is it possible to customise the shape with lamination? They all seem to look the same.
A: Absolutely—brow lamination can and should be customised. Immediately after the treatment, brows may appear very sleek or darker, but after the first 24 hours and once you wash them, they soften and settle into a shape that can be styled to suit your face. Communicating your desired result with your brow technician is key.
Q: I got brow lamination for the first time somewhere and my hairs went all zigzag and frazzled. What went wrong, and will this happen again? I’m scared to try it again.
A: If the zigzag or frazzled appearance showed up straight away, the brows may have been overprocessed. If it happened after your first wash, the issue is likely dryness. In either case, consistent daily moisturising is essential to restore softness and manageability.
Q: What’s your opinion on laminating curly brows? Any advice?
A: Lamination is excellent for curly brow hairs—it helps smooth, redirect, and define them. However, proper aftercare is especially important for this hair type. Regular moisturising is essential to maintain results and prevent dryness or frizzing.
Q: How soon after the lamination service should I start moisturising my brows?
A: You can start 24 hours after your first wash. This allows the treatment to set fully before you begin reintroducing moisture to keep the brows nourished and conditioned.
Q: What would you recommend for hydrating aftercare?
A: Your everyday facial moisturiser works perfectly—just remember to include your brows when applying it. Keeping the area hydrated daily is one of the best ways to extend the results and avoid that dry, crispy feeling.
Q: Any tips on brow care if you work out a lot? I sweat a lot and I’m worried the lamination won’t last.
A: If you’re active or sweat often, consider going for a slightly darker tint to help enhance and maintain the shape visually. It’s also important to gently clean your brows post-workout, moisturise daily, and brush them back into position to keep the style in place.
Q: My brows went flaky—did they do something wrong, or is there something I can do?
A: Flakiness isn’t always a sign something was done incorrectly—it could be a normal response, especially if your skin is sensitive or dry. Make sure you’re moisturising the area daily to prevent dryness and promote healthy brow hair.
Q: How often should I hydrate my brows with cream or oils?
A: Every day. Just like your skin and hair, your brows benefit from consistent hydration. Daily moisturising helps keep the brow hairs soft, healthy, and easier to style throughout the lamination period.
