Lash Lift and Tint
If you're looking for a natural way to make your eyes pop without relying on mascara or lash curlers, and you think lash extensions are too high maintenance for you, a Lash Lift & Tint could be just what you need. This low-maintenance treatment enhances your natural lashes by lifting, curling, and tinting them, giving the appearance of longer, fuller, darker lashes. It’s one of the most popular beauty treatments I offer.
What is a Lash Lift & Tint?
A lash lift is essentially a perm for your natural lashes. Using safe, specially formulated solutions, I gently lift your lashes from the root and set them in an upward curve, making them appear longer and more defined. The tint is applied after the lift, darkening the lashes from root to tip to add depth and the illusion of extra volume.
Unlike lash extensions, this treatment doesn’t involve attaching anything artificial to your lashes. It’s all about enhancing what you already have. The result is beautifully lifted, darker lashes that make your eyes look brighter and more awake, perfect for everyday wear or special occasions.
The whole process takes around 45–60 minutes and is completely painless. You’ll lie back, relax, and keep your eyes closed throughout the treatment. Many of my clients even enjoy a little nap while I work!
How Long Does a Lash Lift Last?
A lash lift typically lasts between 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your lash cycle and how well you follow aftercare advice. As your natural lashes grow and shed, the lifted ones fall out and are replaced by new straight ones, which is when you’ll start to notice the lift wearing off.
Most clients find that every 6 to 8 weeks is the perfect time to return for their next appointment. You’ll know it’s time for a refresh when your lashes start to lose their curl and begin sitting straight again. I recommend waiting at least 6 weeks between treatments to avoid over-processing the lashes.
Lash Lift & Tint Aftercare
Aftercare is key to maintaining the results of your lash lift and tint. The first 24–48 hours after your appointment are especially important. Here’s what you need to know:
For the first 24 hours:
Avoid getting your lashes wet (no showers, saunas, steam, or swimming).
Don’t rub or touch your lashes.
Avoid eye makeup and oil-based products.
Don’t sleep on your face or side if possible—sleeping on your back is best.
Ongoing care tips:
Use an oil free lash serum (I sell these in the salon) or nourishing oil (such as castor oil) to condition your lashes.
Avoid waterproof mascara, as it can be harsh and drying.
Be gentle when removing eye makeup—use oil-free products and pat, don’t rub.
With the right care, your lash lift will hold its shape well, feel free to pop in for a lash tint on its own as the colour is usually the first to fade.
Who Cannot Have a Lash Lift?
While a lash lift is a safe and non-invasive treatment, it’s not suitable for everyone. Your health and safety are always my top priority, so I want to be upfront about who may not be able to have this treatment:
Pregnant or breastfeeding clients: Due to hormonal changes, results can be unpredictable. There’s also a small risk of increased sensitivity or reaction, so I don’t recommend lash lifts during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Lash extensions on the other hand are fine with pregnancy.
Eye infections or irritation: If you have any current eye issues such as conjunctivitis, styes, or severe allergies, it’s best to wait until your eyes are fully healed before booking.
Recent eye surgery or procedures: Please allow a full recovery period before considering a lash lift. Always check with your doctor if you’re unsure.
Very short or sparse lashes: If your natural lashes are very fine or short, a lash lift might not give the dramatic effect you’re hoping for. I’m happy to assess your lashes and suggest the best treatment for your goals if you text me a photo of your lashes (preferably a birds eye view of your eyes closed)
Skin sensitivities or allergies: If you’ve had allergic reactions to beauty treatments before, a patch test is essential. I always perform a patch test at least 24–48 hours before your first lash lift and tint to make sure everything is safe.
If you’re unsure whether you’re suitable for the treatment, feel free to message me—I'm happy to offer guidance and answer any questions.
Lash Lift Myths: Let’s Clear Them Up
There are a lot of misconceptions out there about lash lifts, so let’s clear up some of the most common myths:
“Lash lifts damage your lashes.”
When performed correctly by a trained professional (like me), lash lifts are completely safe. I always assess the condition of your lashes and use high-quality products to protect their health. Following aftercare also plays a big role in keeping your lashes in great shape.
“You can’t wear mascara with a lash lift.”
You absolutely can wear mascara once the initial 24 hour aftercare window has passed. Many of my clients find they don’t need it, but if you do, just avoid waterproof formulas as they can be too harsh.
“Lash lifts are the same as lash extensions.”
Not at all. Lash lifts enhance your natural lashes by curling and tinting them. Extensions involve adding individual lashes to your existing ones. They’re completely different treatments and suit different needs.
“It takes a couple of times to get a good curl”
This is a recent one I heard from a new client who was told this after a disappointing lash lift at another salon! This is absolutely not true. If you have ever had a lash lift that didn’t really lift, then the solution wasn’t left on for long enough or the lashes were not lifted onto the rod with evenly spaced application so the solution couldn’t penetrate the lashes. There is no such thing as ‘it taking a couple of times’.

"Absolutely love my lashes!"
I had my first lash lift and tint with Olivia and I’m honestly blown away by the results. My lashes look so much longer and darker. The whole experience was really relaxing and she explained everything clearly and made me feel so comfortable. It’s been over 6 weeks and they still look amazing. Can’t wait to book in again!
